Position Overview
The Construction Manager will lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of onshore pipeline and station construction projects, ensuring completion is achieved safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The role involves managing construction teams, coordinating with stakeholders and contractors, monitoring project performance, and driving efficient project execution from construction through commissioning and handover. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, project management, and technical expertise in oil and gas construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Manage day‑to‑day construction activities.
- Prepare, supervise, and implement Project Execution Plans.
- Document lessons learned throughout the project lifecycle and ensure proper close‑out.
- Develop cost‑effective strategies to achieve timely completion within budget.
Scheduling & Resource Management
- Prepare detailed construction schedules with planning engineers.
- Mobilize labor, materials, and equipment efficiently.
- Review man‑hours, forecasts, and resource requirements.
- Maintain continuous work fronts using look‑ahead schedules and material delivery planning.
HSE & Quality Assurance
- Lead implementation of HSE and Quality plans on site.
- Evaluate construction quality and safety with QA/QC and HSE managers.
- Ensure timely closure of corrective actions and non‑conformances.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all teams.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and deliverables for team members.
- Lead and motivate construction teams.
- Foster interdisciplinary coordination to minimize interruptions and rework.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, ensuring timely closure of action points.
Stakeholder & Contractor Management
- Act as PMC construction representative.
- Participate in constructability review workshops with EPC contractors and engineers.
- Manage and document changes to specifications, scope, and drawings.
Performance Monitoring & Improvement
- Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance.
- Investigate underperformance and recommend improvements.
- Implement modifications to procedures and work instructions where necessary.
Commissioning & Handover
- Oversee scope implementation for load‑out, fabrication, pre‑commissioning, and commissioning.
- Ensure proper and timely handover of systems and sub‑systems to commissioning teams.
- Provide assistance during commissioning as required.
Reporting & Documentation
- Report project progress, risks, and opportunities to the Project Manager.
- Ensure accurate documentation of changes, lessons learned, and project close‑out.
Key Requirements
- A minimum of ten to fifteen (10-15) years of experience in onshore pipeline construction management.
- A minimum of a BSc in Construction Management or Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical)
- Professional Certifications e.g. NSE, COREN, Project management Professional certification is mandatory
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record.

- Proficiency in MS Office and Primavera.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven project management and organizational expertise.
- Experience in pipeline and station construction.
- Ability to work effectively with multicultural teams.
- Knowledge of PMC management trends globally.
- High energy, adaptability, and problem‑solving mindset.
