Job summary

We are seeking a proactive, organized, and people-oriented HR Assistant to support the Human Resources department in the effective management of employee records, recruitment, onboarding, attendance, documentation, and day-to-day HR activities. The ideal candidate should have good communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the recruitment and selection process, including posting job vacancies, screening CVs, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new employees.
  • Prepare employment letters, confirmation letters, memos, HR forms, and other personnel documents.
  • Monitor employee attendance, lateness, leave, and absence records.
  • Assist with payroll preparation by providing accurate employee information and attendance records.
  • Support performance appraisal and employee evaluation processes.
  • Assist in implementing company HR policies and procedures.
  • Handle employee inquiries and direct HR-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of employee records.
  • Assist with staff training, meetings, and other employee engagement activities.
  • Support disciplinary and employee relations processes when required.
  • Ensure HR documentation is handled confidentially and professionally.
  • Assist with statutory and compliance-related HR documentation.
  • Perform other administrative and HR duties assigned by the HR Manager.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree/HND in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in HR, recruitment, administration, or a related role.
  • Good understanding of basic HR practices and employment procedures.
  • Experience with recruitment and candidate screening is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates with CIPM certification or professional HR training will have an added advantage.
