Job summary
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Hall of Residence Cleaner to ensure that the residence environment remains clean, hygienic, and conducive for students at all times. The role requires maintaining high cleanliness standards across all areas of the hall, handling waste disposal in coordination with external agents, and keeping facilities clean.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain overall cleanliness and orderliness of the hall of residence at all times.
- Conduct routine inspections of all areas, including common rooms, hallways, and resident spaces, to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Handle garbage disposal by moving waste from residential collectors to designated LAWMA collection points, and ensure proper clearance by LAWMA agents.
- Safeguard and properly utilize all cleaning tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain toilets and washrooms in clean and sanitary conditions by regularly mopping floors, wiping windows, and replenishing supplies as needed.
- Ensure that furniture, decorations, and appliances are properly arranged and kept in good condition.
- Dust and polish all surfaces, furniture, decorations, and appliances to maintain a tidy and welcoming environment.
- Remove cobwebs and ensure walls, ceilings, and corners remain clean.
- Report any facility or equipment issues to the hall administration for prompt resolution.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cleaner, janitor, or in a related housekeeping role (preferably in residential or institutional facilities).
- Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment usage.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and extended periods of standing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high hygiene standards.
- Good organizational skills to manage cleaning schedules and tasks efficiently.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good interpersonal skills and a cooperative attitude when dealing with residents and staff.
- Willingness to adhere to hall policies and safety regulations.
