Open Veil Farm is seeking a Junior Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day financial and administrative record-keeping of our growing agricultural operations.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Record daily farm income, expenses, purchases, sales, and other transactions.
  • Maintain accurate records of receipts, invoices, payment vouchers and supporting documents.
  • Assist with maintaining petty cash and expense records.
  • Record farm purchases and expenses, including seeds, fertilizer, chemicals, labour and transportation.
  • Assist with maintaining basic inventory and stock records.
  • Compare physical stock information with recorded figures and report discrepancies.
  • Assist with bank and cash reconciliations.
  • Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and other routine accounting tasks.
  • Enter and maintain financial information using Excel and accounting software.
  • Assist in preparing weekly and monthly financial summaries.
  • Organize accounting records and ensure documents are properly filed.
  • Support the Accountant/Management with other accounting and administrative duties as required.
  • Report unusual transactions, missing documentation, or discrepancies promptly.


Requirements:

  • HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Suitable for a fresh graduate or candidate with 0–2 years of accounting experience.
  • Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Tally or similar software is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Willingness to learn and work hands-on in a farm environment.
  • Ability to identify and report discrepancies or missing documentation.
  • Reliable and able to work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to the farm in Ogun State twice weekly.
