Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting documentation.
  
• Prepare invoices, receipts, payment schedules, and other financial documents.
  
• Record and reconcile daily financial transactions.
  
• Prepare monthly and periodic financial reports.
  
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  
• Perform bank and account reconciliations.
  
• Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and cash-flow monitoring.
  
• Liaise with external auditors and provide the necessary financial records, schedules, and supporting documents during external audits.
  
• Review financial records and identify discrepancies, irregularities, and areas requiring corrective action
  
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies.
  
• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for external audit engagements.
  
• Assist with tax documentation, tax computations, and compliance requirements where necessary.
  
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
  
• Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
  

Requirements:

• A minimum of an HND in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  
• 3–4 years of relevant experience in accounting, including external audit experience.
  
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  
• Experience with reconciliations, financial records, and external audit procedures.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  
• Knowledge of tax regulations, tax computations, and tax compliance will be an added advantage.
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Good analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  
• Professional accounting certification, such as ICAN or ACCA, or progress toward certification, is an advantage.

• The candidate should also be capable of working effectively under pressure, meeting reporting deadlines, and supporting compliance with applicable accounting and tax requirements
