Staff Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Record day-to-day transactions: payables, receivables, expenses and payroll inputs.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations, using ReconIQ.
• Support the month-end close: accruals, prepayments, fixed asset register and schedules.
• Prepare VAT, WHT and PAYE schedules for review, and keep the filing calendar up to date.
• Keep supporting documents organised and audit-ready.
• Support client ReconIQ implementations under the Accounting Manager: data preparation, testing and reconciliation reviews.
• Help prepare monthly management reports.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting or a related field.
• ICAN or ACCA qualification, or good progress toward one.
• 1–3 years of hands-on accounting experience (an audit or accounting-firm background is welcome).
• Solid bank reconciliation and month-end skills; strong Excel.
• Working knowledge of Nigerian tax: VAT, WHT and PAYE.
• Accuracy, organisation and a willingness to learn new tools, including AI.
