Software Testing Intern
Job summary
Support the QA team in testing web and mobile applications by executing test cases, identifying and documenting defects, verifying bug fixes, and ensuring software quality. Responsibilities:
- Execute manual and automated test cases to verify that software applications meet functional and quality requirements.
- Identify, document, report, and track software defects using approved defect management tools, and verify fixes after resolution.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of test plans, test cases, test scenarios, test scripts, and test reports.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT) as required during the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve quality-related issues.
- Support the Quality Assurance team in ensuring compliance with organizational quality standards, testing methodologies, and best practices.
- Participate in Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-up meetings, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews where applicable.
- Continuously learn and apply industry-standard software testing tools, techniques, and processes while contributing to the delivery of reliable, secure, and high-quality software products.
Requirements:
- Currently studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC).
- Knowledge of manual testing principles and software quality assurance practices.
- Familiarity with bug tracking and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Trello, Azure DevOps) is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage assigned tasks effectively.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies, testing frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, APIs, and version control systems (e.g., Git) will be an added advantage.
