The Opportunity
BFG Global Consulting is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Marketing &
Sales to lead the firm's growth agenda. The role oversees three strategic units:
• Sales & Business Development
• Digital Marketing
• Digital Media & Communications
As a member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing integrated
marketing and sales strategies that strengthen BFG's market position, generate qualified opportunities,
increase revenue, and amplify the firm's thought leadership across Africa and beyond.
The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and has a proven ability to
build high-performing teams, drive commercial growth, and establish strong market presence.
Key Responsibilities
Department Leadership & Strategy
• Provide strategic leadership for the Sales, Digital Marketing, and Digital Media units.
• Develop and implement the firm's integrated marketing and commercial strategy aligned with
business objectives.
• Establish annual growth targets, departmental KPIs, budgets, and performance management
frameworks.
• Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team across all three units.
• Foster collaboration between marketing and sales to ensure a seamless lead generation and
conversion process.
Sales & Business Development
• Lead the firm's revenue growth strategy and client acquisition efforts.
• Develop and optimize the sales pipeline, forecasting processes, and customer relationship
management systems.
• Identify new business opportunities, strategic accounts, and market expansion initiatives.
• Managing contract bidding, proposal development, client presentations, and negotiation of
high-value consulting engagements.
• Establish and manage strategic partnerships that create new revenue streams and business
opportunities.
• Drive achievement of revenue, profitability, and client acquisition targets.
Digital Marketing
• Develop and execute multi-channel marketing campaigns that generate awareness,
engagement, and qualified leads.
• Lead demand generation initiatives across digital platforms, including SEO, email marketing,
paid advertising, and marketing automation.
• Define customer segments, target audiences, and go-to-market strategies for BFG's
consulting services.
• Implement marketing analytics and reporting systems to track campaign effectiveness and
ROI.
• Manage marketing technology platforms and optimize the customer journey from awareness
to conversion.
Digital Media & Communications
• Lead the development and execution of BFG's content and media strategy.
• Strengthen the firm's brand positioning around business transformation and Africa's industrial
development agenda.
• Oversee content creation, thought leadership publications, social media management, video
production, and corporate communications.
• Drive media relations, public relations initiatives, and executive visibility opportunities.
• Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external communication channels.
• Build BFG's reputation as a leading voice in business transformation and innovation across
Africa.
Strategic Growth & Market Positioning
• Develop and execute thought leadership initiatives that elevate BFG's market presence.
• Identify emerging market trends, competitive opportunities, and industry developments.
• Represent the firm at conferences, industry events, media engagements, and strategic
forums.
• Build relationships with industry associations, development institutions, and key stakeholders.
• Drive innovation in marketing, communication, and business development practices.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Annual revenue growth and profitability targets.
• Number and value of qualified sales opportunities generated.
• Client acquisition and retention rates.
• Marketing campaign ROI and lead conversion rates.
• Brand visibility, media coverage, and audience engagement metrics.
• Strategic partnership development and contribution to revenue.
• Team performance and departmental effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
• Master's degree or professional certification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5years of progressive experience in marketing, sales, business development, or
commercial leadership.
• Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth in consulting, professional services,
technology, or B2B sectors.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing, content strategy, branding, and sales
management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing departmental budgets.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 12 months, the successful candidate will:
• Deliver sustainable year-on-year revenue growth of 30% or more.
• Increase qualified lead generation by at least 50%.
• Strengthen BFG's visibility as a leading transformation consulting brand in Africa.
• Build a high-performing, integrated marketing and sales function.
• Establish scalable systems for demand generation, sales conversion, and brand growth.
