Human Resources Officer
Job summary
The Human Resources Officer is responsible for managing and supporting all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, training, performance management, and compliance with labor laws. The role ensures the organization attracts, develops, and retains a productive workforce while maintaining a positive work environment.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Plan and manage recruitment, selection, and onboarding of employees
- Maintain employee records, files, and HR databases
- Implement HR policies, procedures, and company regulations
- Handle employee relations issues, grievances, and disciplinary actions
- Coordinate staff training, development, and performance appraisals
- Manage payroll inputs, attendance, leave, and benefits administration
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and workplace regulations
- Support management with workforce planning and HR reports
- Promote a positive organizational culture and employee engagement
- Handle staff exits, resignations, and exit interviews
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field
- Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, HRCI) is an added advantage
- Proven experience in an HR or administrative role is preferred
- Good knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- Good organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR management systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
