Job Summary

A fashion manufacturing company needs an experienced, hands on HR Manager to fill its vacant position in Lagos. The ideal candidate must be in their early 40s & above and ready to resume immediately.

  • Minimum Qualification : MBA / MSc
  • Experience Level : Senior level
  • Experience Length : 5 years

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the recruitment process, including job posting, screening, interviewing, and onboarding of new employees.
  • Collaborate with department managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external recruitment agencies and other talent sources.
  • Act as a mediator and advisor in resolving employee relations issues.
  • Conduct investigations into employee complaints or concerns, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting effective communication and conflict resolution.
  • Develop and implement performance appraisal systems to evaluate employee performance.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance improvement plans and goal-setting processes.
  • Monitor and track employee performance and development.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate the development of training programs.
  • Facilitate training sessions on topics such as diversity and inclusion, leadership, and professional development.
  • Support career development initiatives for employees.
  • Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to labor laws, workplace safety standards, and other legal requirements.
  • Stay informed about changes in employment laws and industry best practices.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Communicate benefits information to employees and assist with enrollment processes.
  • Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Organize company events, team-building activities, and recognition programs.
  • Track and analyze HR metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR programs.
  • Generate regular reports on key HR indicators for management review.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or HR certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in human resources management.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and MS Office.
