Job Summary

To oversee the security, safety and maintenance of the organisation’s buildings, facilities and assets; working in collaboration with other Operations, SBS and Finance personnel and Heads of Departments.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out periodic inspection of school buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
  • Ensure standard and effective asset & inventory management and control at all times to guarantee that assets are properly purchased, repaired or disposed of, following internal workflows and procedures.
  • Ensure that all school’s facilities, equipment, furniture & fittings and all other school assets are safe and well functioning.
  • Analyze, record and report asset transactions to maintain the currency of financial data/records for Fixed Assets, Identify any irregularities that may negatively impact asset accounts
  • Supervise and Oversee the activities of all facilities personnel – Drivers, Chaperones, Maintenance Officers and Security Details/Officers (both Day & Night Security) of the school
  • Ensure the smooth and effective operation of the SBS Unit, Maintenance Unit and Security Unit of the school.
  • Ensure prompt repairs and maintenance of the school buses.
  • Cost-effectively manage all renovations, refurbishments and building projects, supervising external contractors working in the school
  • Advice business measures to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare weekly and timely Asset management and Maintenance reports

Requirements:

  • BSc/HND in Business Administration or Finance related field.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in this position or similar position.
  • The ideal candidate must be of integrity, well organized, ability to work with little or no supervision and result-driven for cost-effective optimization of the school's assets and facilities for superior value creation.  

Pre-requisite Skills:

  • Versed in technical operations.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles.
  • Proficient in IT – Microsoft package: Ms word, PowerPoint, excel.
  • Excellence in verbal and written communication skill.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skill.
  • Inter-personal skill.
  • Good analytical/critical thinking.
  • Teamwork and motivational skills.
  • Procurement and negotiation.
