Role Description The Medical Doctor will provide comprehensive clinical care, including patient consultations, physical examinations, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment planning. Responsibilities include ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and coordinating care with pharmacy and dental teams to support integrated patient management. The Medical Doctor will maintain thorough and accurate medical records, ensure adherence to clinical protocols, and uphold patient safety and confidentiality at all times. The role also involves patient education, health promotion, participation in case reviews, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals to improve clinical outcomes. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Abuja, requiring regular presence in the clinic and close interaction with patients and multidisciplinary staff.
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and full registration/licensure with the appropriate medical regulatory body.
- Strong clinical skills in history taking, physical examination, diagnosis, and management of common medical and specialist conditions.
- Ability to order, interpret, and integrate laboratory and diagnostic test results into patient care plans.
- Proficiency in prescribing medications safely and coordinating with pharmacy services for optimal patient treatment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based medical practice, with attention to patient safety and confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment, manage time efficiently, and handle multiple cases concurrently.
- Comfort with using electronic medical records or digital documentation systems and maintaining accurate, up-to-date patient information.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills in clinical settings.
- Prior experience in a specialist clinic, hospital, or multi-disciplinary healthcare facility is an advantage.
