Responsible for both product planning and product marketing, which includes managing the product throughout the Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products.

Job Description/Requirements


  • Carry out effective market research to determine varying  market needs as well as ascertain the feasibility and suitability  of the product 
  • Conduct analysis of market data, edging the product against the competition, including product re-iteration to completion.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to define concepts and interpret customer needs within arranged timelines as well as evaluate the potentials and practicality of proposed products
  • Co-define and co-develop the product strategy and project  plans respectively as well as execute the plans while overseeing the implementation of product development policies,  objectives, and initiatives
  • Ensure that product development and marketing plans are in  line with set strategy as well as delivered on time and within  budget 
  • Engage key stakeholders in launching new products, and other  strategic initiatives 
  • Ensure adherence to governance and compliance in line with  regulatory and bank policy 
  • Set competitive product pricing to meet revenue and  profitability goals of the bank
  • Drive adoption as well as monitor and review product’s market  performance to adequately measure growth and make  improvement

Person Specification:

  • Proactive in identifying prospective challenges and making recommendations to improve systems and procedures (within and/or across functions) which in turn  increases the quality of products and service offerings  
  • Exceptional at spotting and taking practical steps towards mitigating risks inherent in business ventures under consideration 
  • A self-starter with an outside-the-box thinking  
  • knowledge of Agile methodology for product development 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

Educational Qualification: 

  • A first degree. Relevant product management certifications/additional degrees will be an added advantage. 


  • Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience. Experience in managing financial products within or outside the bank
