Job summary

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality matcha and coffee beverages while delivering excellent customer service. The Barista ensures consistency in taste, presentation, hygiene, and speed of service in line with Café Verde standards.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Drink Preparation:

  • Prepare all matcha and coffee beverages according to approved recipes
  • Ensure consistency in taste, temperature, and presentation
  • Measure ingredients accurately to prevent wastage
  • Maintain speed and efficiency during busy hours
  • Suggest add-ons and upsell premium options


Customer Service:

  • Greet customers warmly
  • Answer questions about menu items
  • Make recommendations when required
  • Handle customer concerns politely
  • Maintain a friendly and professional attitude


Hygiene & Cleanliness:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area
  • Wash and sanitize equipment properly
  • Ensure proper milk storage and handling
  • Clean espresso machine and tools daily
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene standards


Inventory Support:

  • Monitor stock levels of milk, matcha, syrups, cups, and lids
  • Inform the manager of low stock immediately
  • Avoid ingredient wastage
  • Assist in stock taking when required


Equipment Handling:

  • Operate espresso machine properly
  • Use grinders, blenders, and POS systems correctly
  • Report equipment faults immediately


Requirements:

  • Minimum SSCE/OND qualification
  • Previous café or hospitality experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of coffee preparation (training can be provided)
  • Good communication skills
  • Neat appearance and hygiene-conscious
  • Ability to work weekends and shifts
  • Attention to detail
  • Speed & efficiency
  • Customer service skills
  • Teamwork
  • Cleanliness & organization


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Monthly sales target achievement
  • Staff punctuality and performance
  • Customer satisfaction level
  • Inventory wastage control

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Remuneration: NGN 120,000 - 200,000
