Non-Executive Director
Job summary
The non-executive director will provide independent oversight, strategic direction, and professional advisory support to the board and management on operational efficiency, financial performance, internal controls, risk management, and corporate governance matters. The role is primarily advisory and supervisory in nature, requiring participation in Board meetings scheduled once or twice annually to review the company’s operational and financial performance and provide objective recommendations for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
- Provide independent oversight and objective guidance to the board and management on strategic and operational matters.
- Review and evaluate the company’s operational and financial performance to ensure alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
- Advise on corporate governance practices, regulatory compliance, and ethical business standards.
- Support the Board in identifying, assessing, and monitoring key business risks and internal control systems.
- Contribute to the development and review of strategic plans, policies, and business initiatives.
- Offer professional insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency, financial sustainability, and overall organisational performance.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years’ practical working experience within the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, financial reporting processes, internal controls, and corporate governance practices.
- Professional qualifications such as membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria or related professional bodies will be an added advantage.
- Prior experience in senior management, finance, audit, operations, administration, or hospitality management is desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership, analytical, strategic-thinking, and advisory capabilities.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and sound business judgement.
Board Meeting Schedule:
- The Board is expected to meet once or twice annually to review strategic, operational, and financial matters affecting the organisation.
