Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients (e.g., washing, peeling, chopping vegetables).
- Keep kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils clean and organized.
- Load and unload dishwashers, wash pots, pans, and other kitchen tools manually when required.
- Dispose of waste and ensure all kitchen areas are sanitized according to hygiene standards.
- Unpack and store deliveries correctly and safely.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation under supervision.
- Report any damaged or faulty equipment to the supervisor.
Requirements:
- OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a kitchen assistant preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Additional certificate is a plus.
- Previous kitchen or food service experience is a plus but not always required.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Physical stamina for long shifts and tasks that require standing, lifting, and moving.
