Job Summary

A firm in Victoria Island needs a highly experienced executive chef to fill this role at a guest house

  • Minimum Qualification:Diploma
  • Experience Level:Senior level
  • Experience Length:7 years

Job Description/Requirements


  • Check the freshness of food and ingredients
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other food preparation workers
  • Develop recipes and determine how to present the food
  • Ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality
  • Order and maintain inventory of food and supplies
  • Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety and hygiene standards
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing
  • Able to use various ingredients to create appealing meals for the household
  • Preparing ingredients for the shift; washing vegetables, chopping, seasoning meat, etc.
  • Making use of our computerized system to check and prepare orders
  • Handling multiple food orders at one time





  • 7-years minimum experience as a Chef
  • Professional Chef Diploma from a reputable culinary school
  • Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers and pasta makers)
  • Continental: Sweet potato puree, Grilled Chicken, Lasagne, Egg Fried Rice, Scrambled Eggs, Chicken Pops, Pork Chops, Lamb Chops, Chicken Fettuccine, Chicken and Sweetcorn soup, Spaghetti Bolognese, Shepherd’s Pie
  • Nigerian: Efo Riro, Ofada, Jollof, Fried Rice, Stew, Multiple Nigerian soups, Beans
  • Must be able to make dishes excellently
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Time-management skills - must efficiently manage time and ensure that meals are prepared and served on time
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and health codes.
  • Years spent working in restaurants, and residential and corporate guest houses will be an added advantage
