Baker

Responsibilities:

• Bake all cakes, pastries and desserts at the bakery
• Participate in designing and improving recipes
• Measure and combine ingredients using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment to make baked goods.
• Make frostings that would be used in the bakery
• Liaise with the storekeeper for documentation of all raw materials used in the kitchen and stored in the freezer
• Testing ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety requirements.
• Taking client information from the administrative officer and ensuring that specifications are met accurately and on time.
• Ensure the cleaning of the workstation and that all equipment is sanitised and prepared for the next order execution.
• Direct and supervise the assistant baker’s activities to make sure that products are up to standard.
• Assess the quality of raw materials before baking.
• Conduct research to develop self-originated recipes.
• Ensure that baking utensils and equipment are properly handled and stored.
• Track profitability by maintaining an up-to-date record of baking operations.

Requirements:

• Minimum educational qualification of OND.
• Someone who has at least 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Has good communication skills, demonstrates creativity, has excellent listening skills, and is detail-oriented.
• Hardworking, smart and can work in a fast-paced environment, has basic numeracy skills and excellent time management skills.
• Must be living in close proximity to the bakery in Bodija, Ibadan.
