Responsibilities:
- Provide overall strategic leadership and direction for X-Force Engineering Limited, setting the vision, mission, long-term growth strategy, and annual business objectives in alignment with the Board's mandate
- Drive business development, client acquisition, and revenue growth by building strategic relationships with government agencies, private sector clients, oil & gas companies, and development partners, and personally leading the pursuit of major contract opportunities
- Oversee all project delivery, engineering operations, and construction activities across the company's portfolio, ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, to specification, and in full compliance with HSE and quality standards
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable the senior leadership team — including Heads of Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Legal, Business Development, and HR — ensuring strong functional performance and a high-performance organisational culture
- Maintain ultimate accountability for the company's financial health, including P&L performance, cash flow management, budget approvals, capital allocation, and statutory compliance with all regulatory and tax obligations
- Represent X-Force Engineering at the highest levels with clients, government regulators (COREN, BPP, NESREA), professional bodies, industry forums, and financial institutions, protecting and enhancing the company's brand and market positioning
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks, risk management systems, and internal control standards across the organisation, ensuring compliance with Nigerian law, COREN regulations, and international engineering best practices
- Report to the GMD/CEO on company performance, strategic initiatives, risk exposure, and major business decisions; support the GMD/CEO in presenting to the Board of Directors and implement Board resolutions with full accountability for outcomes
Requirements:
- B.Eng. or B.Sc. in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution --- Minimum
- M.Sc. in Engineering Management, Construction Management, Project Management, or MBA --- Strongly Required at this level
- COREN Full Registration (R.Eng.) --- Mandatory
- Membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) --- Mandatory
- Minimum of 15 to 20 years post-qualification engineering and business leadership experience, with at least 7 years in a C-suite, Managing Director, or General Manager role within an engineering or construction company
- Demonstrated track record of leading and growing an engineering, construction, or infrastructure business with revenue of ₦1 billion or above
- Extensive experience delivering complex, multi-disciplinary engineering and construction projects across infrastructure, buildings, oil & gas, or public works sectors in Nigeria
- Proven experience managing board-level relationships, institutional investors, government stakeholders, and international clients
- Deep knowledge of Nigerian procurement regulations (BPP), COREN compliance requirements, and the regulatory landscape governing engineering practice in Nigeria
- Strong track record of building high-performing leadership teams and driving organisational transformation
Required Certifications & Licences
- COREN Full Registration (R.Eng.) --- Mandatory
- NSE Corporate / Fellow Membership --- Mandatory
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 Practitioner --- Strongly Preferred
- Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) --- Advantage at this level
- FIDIC or NEC Contract Management Certification --- Advantage

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Annual revenue and EBITDA targets achieved or exceeded per Board-approved business plan
- Project portfolio delivered on time and within budget --- portfolio-level schedule and cost variance within ±10%
- Business development pipeline maintained at minimum 3x annual revenue target; bid conversion rate of 25% or above
- Zero reportable HSE fatalities or major incidents attributable to management leadership failures
- Employee engagement and retention of senior talent above 85% year-on-year
- All statutory and regulatory obligations met with zero penalties or sanctions --- COREN, BPP, FIRS, CAC, PENCOM
- Board-approved annual budget submitted on time; quarterly MD performance reports delivered to the Board by agreed deadlines
- X-Force Engineering brand and reputation --- client satisfaction score of 80% or above across active projects
