Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Catering Operations & Execution:
- Oversee day-to-day catering operations for all catering sections.
- Plan and coordinate menu design, food preparation, presentation, and service flow.
- Ensure all catering equipment, utensils, and facilities are cleaned, maintained, and available.
Staff Management & Training:
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise catering staff, chefs, and service teams.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and skills development programs.
- Maintain high standards of personal grooming, hygiene, and customer service among the catering team.
- Ensure staff adhere to Safari’s policies, safety rules, and operational procedures.
Client Relations & Event Coordination:
- Work directly with clients to understand their needs, preferences, budgets, and event expectations.
- Prepare detailed event plans, service timelines, and cost estimates.
- Resolve client concerns professionally and ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Build strong relationships with corporate clients, VIP guests, and repeat customers.
Menu Development & Quality Control:
- Collaborate with chefs to design creative, cost-effective, and diverse menus.
- Conduct regular food tasting, quality checks, and hygiene inspections.
- Ensure food presentation meets Safari’s visual and flavour standards.
- Introduce seasonal offerings, premium menus, and high-end culinary experiences.
Budgeting, Cost Control & Vendor Management:
- Prepare and manage catering budgets, financial reports, and cost analyses.
- Monitor food costs, wastage, portion control, and inventory levels.
- Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality products at competitive prices.
- Track revenue targets, profitability, and service efficiency.
Compliance, Safety & Hygiene:
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations.
- Maintain updated certifications, food safety documents, and compliance records.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchens, storage areas, and service points.
Business Development & Innovation:
- Develop new catering products, packages, and corporate meal plans.
- Identify new business opportunities within Safari’s diverse service offerings.
- Support marketing campaigns, promotions, and brand collaborations.
- Assist in expanding Safari’s catering services to new locations and client segments.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a B.Sc. qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
