Baker/Pastry Chef

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and bake a variety of cakes, pastries, and desserts according to approved recipes and quality standards.
• Participate in the creation, testing, and improvement of recipes to enhance product quality and innovation.
• Measure, mix, and combine ingredients using mixers, blenders, ovens, and other baking equipment.
• Prepare frostings, fillings, and decorations for various baked goods.
• Liaise with the Storekeeper to document and track the usage of raw materials and maintain proper storage of ingredients and finished goods.
• Inspect and test ingredients and finished products to ensure compliance with food safety and quality control standards.
• Review client orders and specifications from the Administrative Officer and ensure accurate, timely delivery.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized workstation, ensuring all baking equipment is properly cleaned and prepared for subsequent use.
• Supervise and guide Assistant Bakers to ensure product consistency, quality, and adherence to bakery standards.
• Evaluate the quality and freshness of raw materials prior to use in production.

Requirements

• The lowest educational qualification is OND.
• Someone who has at least 2 - 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Has good communication skills, demonstrates creativity, has excellent listening skills, and is detail-oriented.
• Hardworking, smart, and can work in a fast-paced environment, has basic numeracy skills, and excellent time management skills.
• Must be living in proximity to the bakery in Bodija, Ibadan.
