Job summary

Momentum Africa is seeking an Operations Lead to own delivery across our political and strategic communications work in Africa. While our consultants and strategists focus on influence and outcomes, this role ensures execution, turning strategy into disciplined, on-time, on-budget delivery across multiple high-stakes engagements. You will manage workflows, resources, and operational systems, bridging the gap between what we promise clients and what we deliver. From political campaigns to corporate mandates, you will ensure every project runs with precision and clarity. If you enjoy turning complex strategies into flawless execution and want responsibility, not bureaucracy, we want to hear from you.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Workflow Management:

  • Oversee the operational lifecycle of all active client mandates and ensure teams are synced and meeting "impossible" deadlines.
  • Act as the traffic controller for the firm and decide which consultants are assigned to which projects based on bandwidth and expertise.
  • Enforce the "culture of excellence" by ensuring every document or press release passes internal quality gates.

Program Logistics & Coordination:

  • Assist in setting up for both virtual (Zoom/Teams) and in-person training days.
  • Ensure links are sent out on time, and venues are prepared.
  • Ensure all resources needed by participants, simulation briefs," case studies, and reading materials are ready before each phase (e.g., Pre-Declaration, Coalition Building).

Financial Operations & Profitability:

  • Manage relationships with our network of influencers, media partners, and field operators.
  • Oversee the invoicing cycle, ensuring cash flow remains healthy to support ongoing operations.

Data & Documentation:

  • Update the database of participants, Facilitators, and alumni.
  • Maintain a neat digital filing system for the program’s assets, both digital and physical, ensuring that "Feedback loops" and assessments are properly stored.

Team & Talent Operations:

  • Implement KPIs for the consulting and creative teams. Move the team from "ad hoc" working styles to structured, data-driven performance.
  • Lead the hiring for critical roles (e.g., Researchers, Data Analysts), ensuring we attract talent that understands the nuances of the African political landscape.
  • Manage operational logistics for our teams across Nigeria, The Gambia, Sierra Leone, and other African countries.

Strategic Expansion:

  • Expand the "Momentum Playbook" to standardise how we approach Political Consulting, Crisis Comms, and Event Management, so our success is repeatable.
  • Tech Stack: Optimise the tools we use for social listening, project management, and internal communication.

Requirements:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in Operations, Project Management, or Management Consulting. Experience in a creative agency, political campaign, or high-pressure consulting firm is strongly preferred.
  • The "Operator" Mindset: You love systems. You look at a chaotic political campaign and immediately see how to organise it into Gantt charts, budgets, and deliverables.
  • You must be comfortable with P&L management, project budgeting, and margin analysis.
  • Understanding of the African business and political environment is a massive plus.
  • We work on election timelines. You must be able to make calm, logical decisions when "crisis communication" scenarios arise.

Why Momentum Africa?

  • You will work on projects that shape national policies and determine the leadership of countries.
  • You will solve complex logistical problems, such as coordinating a polling team across 10 remote states or managing a crisis narrative in real time.
  • This is a senior role with a direct line to the firm’s leadership, offering a path to becoming a Partner or COO

Remuneration: NGN 400,000 - 600,000
