General Manager, Technical Operations

Responsibilities:

Strategic & Operational Leadership:

• Provide strategic direction and oversight for all technical operations, including vessel maintenance, repair, and engineering services.
• Develop and implement systems to improve asset reliability, turnaround time, and cost efficiency.
• Support the organisation’s growth strategy by strengthening technical capability and operational readiness.

Engineering & Technical Oversight:

• Oversee mechanical and electrical repair operations for vessels and marine equipment.
• Supervise specialised technical units, including Painting and blasting, Machining and fabrication, Injector servicing and Plant and workshop operations
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, classification requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

Yard & Shipyard Operations:

• Coordinate shipyard planning, scheduling, and execution of repair projects.
• Manage dry-docking activities, vessel turnaround, and yard services.
• Ensure efficient utilisation of facilities, equipment, and manpower.

Performance & Process Improvement:

• Establish KPIs and performance dashboards for Equipment reliability, Repair turnaround time, Cost efficiency and Safety and compliance
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across technical departments.

Financial & Resource Management:

• Develop and manage technical budgets and maintenance plans.
• Optimise procurement and inventory processes for spare parts and consumables.
• Ensure cost control without compromising safety or quality.

Leadership & Team Development:

• Lead and develop technical teams across multiple units.
• Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, and operational excellence.
• Strengthen succession planning and technical capability within the organisation.

HSE & Compliance:

• Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, ISO standards, and maritime regulatory requirements.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all technical operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications will be an advantage.
• Minimum of 12–15 years’ experience in marine, shipyard, or heavy engineering operations, with at least 5 years in senior leadership.
• Strong experience in vessel repair, shipyard or yard operations, and technical project management.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams.
