We are a not-for-profit-based organization in Lagos, focused on research and advocacy for the creative and tourism industries in Nigeria. The creative and tourism sectors are an important element in sustainable development as they contribute to expanding people’s horizons and worldview, thereby enhancing the quality of life. This socio-cultural dimension of sustainable development is key to the development agenda for Nigeria. Our goal is to contribute to the development of a Nigeria where the collective good is seen as more important than the individual. Our vision is for a harmonious Nigeria with creative consciousness to drive active civic participation encouraged by the creative and tourism sectors. We do this by providing research support, data, and insights that will guide effective decision-making at the individual, corporate, and policy-level in the creative and tourism industries in Nigeria.

Job Description/Requirements


  • Day-to-day management of the activities of The Sahara Centre, including the research projects, the INDIGO workspace, Conversations, and activities that promote Nigerian culture and society
  • Primary contact for the NGO and responsible for building relationships with partners and key stakeholders that will contribute to the achievement of the vision of The Sahara Centre and interfacing with the advisory board by providing monthly reports
  • Development of a program of activities that promote Nigerian culture and society and the materials that support this, including the bi-monthly Sahara Notes
  • Preparation of implementation plan, project budgets and managing of resource requirements and scheduling
  • Identifying potential partners for projects and applying for funding, sponsorships, and partnerships


  • Minimum of Bsc in any related field
  • MSc in any related field will be an added advantage
  • Experienced project manager and researcher with existing networks in the creative and tourism sectors in Nigeria
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • A communications or marketing background or experience will be useful

This is a paid, full-time position open to candidates based in Lagos and able to start work in September 2021.
