Job Overview
The Automobile Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of vehicles in line with manufacturer specifications and workshop standards. The ideal candidate is technically sound, efficient, and committed to quality service delivery.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Vehicle Diagnostics & Repairs
Diagnose faults in engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, steering systems, and electrical components.
Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs and servicing on cars, SUVs, and light-duty vehicles.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues and ensure accurate fixes.
Perform test drives and quality checks before job completion.
Maintenance & Preventive Care
Conduct periodic maintenance and inspection according to schedules.
Identify worn or defective parts and recommend replacements.
Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety and quality protocols.
Workshop Operations
Update job cards and service reports accurately.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned work areas.
Collaborate with service advisors and parts department for efficient job flow.
Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements
Minimum of Trade Test Certification (Grade I, II, or III) in Mechanical or Electrical Auto Work.
3+ years' practical experience in automotive repairs and diagnostics.
Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems and workshop procedures.
Hands-on experience using diagnostic tools and service equipment.
Experience with Mercedes, Toyota and Ford vehicles will be an added advantage.
Ability to read and interpret service manuals and repair instructions.
Good teamwork, communication, and time management skills.
