Job summary
The Head of Human Resources and Administration is responsible for setting the strategic direction and execution of all HR and administrative functions of Librod Energy Services Limited. This includes managing organizational structure, recruitment, performance evaluation, training and development, employee engagement, legal compliance, HR policy implementation, and administrative support services. The role ensures that the company attracts, develops, motivates, and retains high-performing talent while maintaining legal and operational compliance and supporting long-term business growth.

- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with corporate goals and business plans.
- Provide strategic counsel to Executive Management on people issues, organizational development, and human capital optimization.
- Communicate the HR strategy and ensure cross-departmental alignment with people-related initiatives.
- Guide the continuous use of the company’s performance management framework to assess staff performance against agreed-upon metrics.
- Engage productively with Business Unit Heads to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for different job roles and agree on measurable annual performance targets.
- Use performance data to identify and address staff development needs.
- Facilitate the design and implementation of people development and training strategies to address capacity gaps.
- Oversee training planning, delivery, tracking, and post-training evaluations to ensure business impact.
- Promote a learning culture that supports continuous personal and professional development.
- Coordinate recruitment efforts to ensure the timely availability of competent talent across the business.
- Manage onboarding and orientation programs to promote employee integration and productivity.
- Maintain an up-to-date workforce plan in line with the company’s operational and strategic needs.
- Develop and provide guidance on career progression frameworks and succession planning processes.
- Ensure a consistent pipeline of capable staff for leadership and key operational roles.
- Define and maintain a competitive and merit-based compensation system that supports business strategy.
- Regularly benchmark salary structures and benefits against industry standards.
- Advise management on reward structures that drive employee performance and retention.
- Provide technical advice on employment legislation, staff contracts, and HR legal risks.
- Ensure full compliance with Nigerian labour laws, company policies, and regulatory standards.
- Minimize legal liabilities and manage staff-related risks proactively.
- Establish and maintain a strong network of relationships with employees across all levels.
- Foster a culture of trust, transparency, collaboration, and ethical conduct.
- Manage and resolve staff complaints, grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary matters fairly and thoroughly.
- Facilitate the achievement and maintenance of industrial peace and harmony.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure proactive and productive labor relations.
- Oversee general office administration, facilities management, vendor contracts, logistics, and corporate services.
- Ensure administrative processes are cost-efficient, scalable, and aligned with business needs.
- Track and analyze HR performance metrics (e.g., turnover, time-to-hire, training ROI).
- Use data to guide strategic HR decisions and improve workforce performance.

- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Humanities, or related disciplines
- A master's degree or advanced HR certification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial/senior leadership HR role within a similar structured organization
- Professional certification in Human Resources from CIPM (Nigeria) is required; international certifications (e.g., SHRM, HRCI, CIPD) are an added advantage
- A relevant postgraduate degree (e.g., MSc in HRM, MBA with HR concentration) will be an added advantage
- He/She must have cognitive experience and track records in human resources management in the oil & gas industry (downstream).
- Must have worked with any of the following international service companies: Halliburton, Weatherford, Schlumberger/MI, or Baker.
- Must currently be Head of HR in his/her present role
- Residency in Port Harcourt is mandatory, with occasional travel to Lagos.

- Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates sound judgment in people-related matters
- A 7-person team covering HR, Admin, and Corporate Services.
- ₦2.5 Million NET Monthly (Open to negotiations)
- HMO, pension, leave allowance, and 13th month (performance-dependent).
- Schedule: Mondays – Fridays, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, on-site role with occasional travel to Lagos, as that is where the corporate office is based.
- Full-time, office-based role at the Lagos/PH, with occasional travel to other company locations as required.
