The primary purpose of this role is to successfully coordinate the implementation of WaterAid's country strategic initiatives in Lagos state by ensuring that all proggramme activities are properly included in realistic and achievable Annual State Programme Plans and delivered through appropriate projects

Key Deliverables include;

Lead in the development of Annual Plans for WaterAid's activities with inputs from partners (local and state government, as well as civil society partners) in such a manner that achieves WaterAid's programmatic goals and objectives in Lagos state. Lead in the design and implementation of Urban Water and Urban Sanitation interventions that address the gaps and challenges in the Lagos WASH sector in alignment with the State government's THEMES agenda. Lead the design and execution of influencing programs in Lagos State and identify the key sector issues on which WaterAid and its partners should focus their advocacy efforts to translate WASH policy to practice, strengthen WASH services and increase access to WASH. Participate in grant proposal development/proposal writing to pursue fundraising opportunities. Develop and strengthen partnerships and alliances between sector stakeholders, government counterparts and NGOs involved in water and sanitation related activities to identify innovations capable of increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the sector. Directly supervise a multi-functional state programmes team to deliver high performance, including setting performance objectives and monitoring performance.

To be successful, you must meet the following requirements

Strong academic background (preferably at Master's degree level) in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Development, Public Health or other relevant field. At least 10 years' experience in Urban WASH programming demonstrated through a progressive career record working in a leadership role . Sound knowledge of programme and basic project management approaches, including the ability to initiate, plan, manage and monitor programmes & projects as well as project budgets and financial management.
