The successful candidate will serve as the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions, responsible for overseeing FCMBAM’s financial reporting framework, strategic planning, and investment growth initiatives. The role requires a visionary finance leader who can drive sustainable growth, ensure strong financial governance, and support the company’s long-term strategic objectives.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting and Control:
- Develop and implement the company’s overall financial strategy, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with SEC, FRCN, and other local regulatory requirements, maintaining robust corporate governance and internal controls.
- Manage accounting operations, cost control initiatives, and financial risk.
- Oversee cash flow, liquidity management, and short-term investment strategies to support operations.
- Collaborate with the investment team to monitor portfolio performance and align investment activities with approved risk frameworks.
- Coordinate annual audit processes and maintain effective relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulators.
Strategic Leadership and Planning:
- Formulate and execute the company’s long-term and annual business strategies to drive growth and maximise shareholder value.
- Lead strategic initiatives and special projects in line with corporate objectives.
- Utilise financial models to test and forecast the robustness of investment and business strategies.
- Provide insights and strategic advice to the CEO and Board on financial and operational decisions.
Investment and Financial Management:
- Recommend and implement investment strategies that enhance fund value and profitability.
- Drive product development and process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and market competitiveness.
- Oversee capital planning, financial strategy, and budget development processes.
- Monitor financial performance, manage risk exposure, and ensure compliance with performance and reporting standards.
Team and Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with the executive leadership team to ensure strategic alignment across the organisation.
- Lead, mentor, and develop finance, investment, and strategy teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with investors, lenders, and key financial stakeholders.
- Provide regular reports to the CEO, Board, and relevant committees on strategy execution, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Liaise with regulators and industry stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable laws and best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; a Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Professional certification, such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, CFA, ACIS or equivalent, is required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in similar or related roles.
- Strong understanding of financial services regulations, with excellent knowledge of IFRS, FRCN, and SEC compliance requirements
- Skilled in strategic portfolio management, cost efficiency modelling, and scenario planning to support executive decision-making.
- Excellent knowledge of the Finance/Tax Act and Investment and Securities Act other relevant Nigerian financial regulations.
- Proficient in leveraging digital finance tools and data analytics to strengthen decision-making and reporting.
