Job Summary
An established Plastic Manufacturing company located in Onitsha, Anambra State, is seeking a highly competent and experienced Production Manager (Plastics) to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems, maintenance, and operations within manufacturing sectors, with cognate experience in Plastics manufacturing.

Job Description/Requirements
- Production Management: Ensure production targets are met by maximizing machine output, optimizing equipment utilization, maintaining consistent product quality, and minimizing waste or damage.
- People & Process Management: Supervise, motivate, and discipline production staff while communicating plans and fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Efficiency & Cost Control: Control energy consumption and apply lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to PPE usage, maintain zero fatalities and minimal incidents, and uphold safe, clean, and organized production areas in line with GMP standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document production activities, downtime, material usage, and incidents while ensuring timely reporting and effective stakeholder communication.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements while driving innovation to boost efficiency, safety, and profitability. Maintenance Coordination: Work with Maintenance team to ensure machinery and equipment are in good working condition, always.
- Inventory & Material Management: Monitor Raw Materials usage and coordinate with Procurement team to ensure sufficient stock level always, without overstocking or stockout.
Requirements:
- A minimum of HND in Mechanical/Chemical/Production Engineering or other relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a well-structured manufacturing industry in similar capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Blow and Injection machines, and molds.
- Familiarity with industry materials (e.g., HDPE), codes, standards, utilities and machinery/equipment first aid (e.g.: Compressors, Chillers, etc.)
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve common Machinery and equipment errors, to ensure a hitch free production operations.
- Proficiency in engineering software and maintenance management systems is an advantage.
- COREN registration or membership of relevant professional bodies is desirable.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
