Job summary

We are seeking a professional and customer-focused hotel porter (bellhop) to serve as the first point of contact for arriving guests. The ideal candidate will provide a warm welcome, assist with luggage, and ensure a smooth and seamless guest experience from arrival to departure. This role combines physical support duties with excellent customer service, acting as a key link between the front desk and other hotel departments.

Responsibilities:


Guest Assistance:

  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and departure.
  • Open doors and assist guests to the reception area or their rooms.
  • Provide a welcoming and professional first impression at all times.


Luggage Handling:

  • Assist with loading and unloading luggage from vehicles.
  • Tag and handle guest baggage carefully for security and organization.
  • Deliver luggage promptly to guest rooms and assist with storage when required.


Concierge Support:

  • Provide accurate information about hotel facilities, services, and local attractions.
  • Assist guests with directions, transportation arrangements (taxis), restaurant reservations, and event bookings.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests.


Facility Maintenance:

  • Ensure the lobby, entrance, and surrounding areas are clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs or reporting faults.


Operational Support:

  • Support hotel operations by moving furniture and setting up event or conference rooms.
  • Run errands and provide additional support to enhance guest comfort and satisfaction.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of OND or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or a similar role is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physically fit and able to lift and move luggage.
  • Well-presented, courteous, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and shifts.


Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of the local area and attractions.
  • Good problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and customer satisfaction.


Remuneration: NGN 80,000 net
