Job Summary:
The Executive Director of Business Development plays a pivotal role in driving the overall growth and market presence of the bank in Benin Republic. The role encompasses overseeing all business and market-facing functions, including Corporate Banking, Commercial/SME Banking, Consumer Banking, Retail Banking, Public Sector, and Digital Banking. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader responsible for developing and executing business development strategies to achieve revenue targets and enhance the bank's market share.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement the business development strategy aligned with the bank's overall objectives. Provide visionary leadership to the business development team.Portfolio Management:
Oversee Corporate Banking, Commercial/SME Banking, Consumer Banking, Retail Banking, Public Sector, and Digital Banking portfolios. Ensure the effective management and growth of each business segment.Market Expansion:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the bank's market presence. Drive initiatives to attract and onboard new clients across various segments.Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service.Digital Banking Transformation:
Lead the digital banking strategy, ensuring the bank remains competitive in the rapidly evolving digital landscape. Drive the adoption of digital solutions to enhance customer experience.Performance Monitoring:
Monitor and analyze business performance metrics. Implement corrective measures as needed to achieve revenue and profitability targets.Team Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing business development team. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. MBA or relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus. Minimum of 15 years of experience in either or combination of some / all of Corporate Banking, Commercial/SME Banking, Consumer Banking, Retail Banking, Public Sector, and Digital Banking portfolios, with a demonstrated progression of responsibilities Proven track record of leadership in business development within the banking sector. In-depth understanding of the Benin Republic financial market and regulatory environment. Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
