Job summary

We are seeking a polished, proactive, and guest-focused concierge officer to serve as the first point of contact for guests at The Metropolis Lekki. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, possess excellent local knowledge, and have the ability to anticipate and exceed guest expectations at every touchpoint.

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a warm, professional welcome to guests and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction at all times.
  • Assist guests with information about Lagos, including recommendations for restaurants, attractions, and activities in areas such as Lekki and Victoria Island.
  • Handle guest requests and inquiries promptly and efficiently, ensuring a seamless experience.
  • Coordinate and arrange transportation, reservations, and bookings (e.g., taxis, restaurants, events, and tours).
  • Manage guest complaints with empathy and professionalism, ensuring quick resolution and follow-up.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with other hotel departments to support guest needs.
  • Utilise basic computer systems and, where applicable, property management systems (PMS) or OTA platforms to manage guest services.
  • Ensure the concierge desk and surrounding areas are well-organised and presentable at all times.
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking abilities while remaining calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Uphold high service standards and attention to detail in all guest interactions.
  • Adapt to flexible work schedules, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays


Requirements:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English — additional languages are an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, professional, and guest-centric attitude
  • Sound knowledge of Lagos, including Lekki and Victoria Island, for guest recommendations
  • Basic computer literacy Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complaints with empathy and efficiency
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistently excellent service standards
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Experience with property management systems (PMS) or OTA platforms is an advantage
  • A professional appearance and presentation in line with the establishment's brand standards
