Job Summary
As the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the Education Reform and Innovation Team (ERIT), you will spearhead our mission to reform and transform education, focusing primarily on the State Education Reform Projects (80% of your time) and the development of the ERIT organization (20% of your time). This pivotal role demands a visionary leader who can effectively meld strategic oversight with impactful execution. Your leadership will ensure that all organizational activities are aligned with our core mission to innovate and improve education systems, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to thrive and succeed. You will guide the organization through its next phase of growth by developing and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance educational outcomes and expand our reach. In this role, you will drive the organization's strategic agenda, manage critical stakeholder relationships, and build a culture of excellence and accountability. You will be directly responsible for scaling up our impact, securing sustainable funding, and enhancing operational efficiency. Your strategic vision will navigate the organization through evolving educational landscapes, fostering partnerships, and influencing policy changes that align with our goals.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership in the development and implementation of strategic plans that align with the organization's Theory of Change. Lead State Education Reform Projects, ensuring successful execution and achievement of project milestones.
- Programs and Projects Development and Management: Oversee the design, delivery, and quality of programs, projects, and services, ensuring they meet community needs and align with our strategic goals. Monitor and evaluate project progress to ensure timely completion and high impact.
- Research and Innovation: Lead educational research initiatives to inform policy recommendations. Foster a culture of innovation in developing new approaches to education reform.
- Technology Integration: Drive the adoption of educational technology to enhance learning outcomes. Oversee the development of digital platforms for education delivery and management.
- Partnerships and Collaborations: Establish strategic partnerships with educational institutions, NGOs, and private sector entities. Develop collaborative projects leveraging diverse expertise for comprehensive reform.
- Policy Advocacy: Lead efforts to influence education policy at local, state, and national levels. Develop and present policy recommendations to relevant government bodies.
- Capacity Building: Develop programs to enhance skills of educators and school administrators. Create initiatives to strengthen the overall capacity of the education system.
- Crisis Management and Resilience: Develop strategies to address educational challenges during crises. Ensure organizational adaptability to unforeseen challenges in the education sector.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish robust systems for continuous monitoring of all programs and initiatives. Oversee regular evaluations to assess impact, effectiveness, and efficiency of projects. Use data-driven insights to guide decision-making and continuous improvement. Ensure timely reporting of outcomes to stakeholders, donors, and board members.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the annual budget; ensure the most effective use of resources for maximum impact on our goals. Oversee fundraising strategies and donor relations to secure adequate funding for organizational operations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary spokesperson for the organization; establish and maintain relationships with various organizations to enhance the organization’s mission. Engage with government officials and key stakeholders to advocate for educational reforms and secure support for ERIT reform projects within any state. Implement strategies to involve local communities in education reform efforts. Ensure initiatives are culturally sensitive and responsive to community needs.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensure that the organization complies with all legal and regulatory requirements. Work with the Board to fulfill governance functions and facilitate optimal performance by the Board, its committees, and individual Board members.
- Team Leadership and Development: Foster a positive, transparent, and collaborative working environment. Recruit, nurture, and challenge a highly qualified and passionate staff.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Public Administration, or a related field is required. A doctoral degree or equivalent in any of these fields is preferred.
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in a non-profit, education, or related sector with a demonstrated track record of successful strategic planning and execution, and substantial oversight responsibilities, including staff management and financial oversight.
- Program and Project Management: Expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating reform programs and projects.
- Policy Development and Analysis: Ability to develop, analyze, and implement policies that influence educational practices and outcomes at various levels
- Data Analysis and Performance Metrics: Competence in using data analytics to assess program effectiveness, make informed decisions, and drive organizational improvement.
- Communication Skills: Strong communicator, can convey ideas clearly and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Fundraising and Resource Development and Management: Skilled in fundraising strategies and donor relations, with the ability to secure funding from a variety of sources, including grants, donations, and partnerships. Proficiency in budgeting, financial forecasting, and resource allocation.
