Job Summary

This is a full-time role for a Business Development Officer in Port Harcourt. The ideal candidate is a go-getter with a minimum of 2 years experience in Business Development or Sales in the oil and gas industry or Marine industry, and a strong relationship-building and communication skill.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:
  • Identify and target potential clients for remote location catering, and food & beverage supply services within the oil & gas and marine industry.
  • Acquire new clients/business for the company and follow up with prospects for the business.
  • Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Establish strong, long-term relationships with clients through regular communication and follow-up.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to potential clients, highlighting the value proposition of our services.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms of agreements to maximize profitability and secure long-term partnerships with clients and vendors.
  • Oversee existing clients and ensure satisfaction with services provided.
  • Handle any client issues or concerns and provide prompt solutions.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, and client needs.
  • Provide insights and feedback to improve services.
  • Maintain records of sales activities and client interactions.
  • Prepare regular reports on sales performance and business development activities.
  • Collaborate with all the company’s teams (departments) to develop customized catering services or hospitality solutions that align with client goals.
  • Analyse previous and current services to determine how best to sell them to prospective clients.
  • Implement sales and business development strategies to ensure revenue growth.
  • Set targets for annual growth and prepare marketing activity plans for the company in line with management's directives.
  • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets for the marketing department.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of the company’s services to be able to effectively communicate the company's value to prospects.
  • Prepare and submit Tenders/ Technical and Commercial.
  • Submit quotes based on RFQS.


Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in business development or sales within the oil & gas / marine sectors.
  • Resilient, self-motivated, and result-driven.
  • Proven track record of successful business development, achieving targets, and driving revenue growth.
  • BA or BSc/HND in Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field from a reputable institution.
  • Excellent analytical skills for evaluating market trends, financial reports, and business performance metrics.
  • Strong ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities, develop client relationships, and negotiate deals.
  • Project management experience, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as good relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • The ability to drive with a valid driver’s license is an advantage.
