Job Summary

BISL is seeking a Business Developer with strong branding and strategic experience to build and grow the business into a leading force in the Nigerian facilities maintenance and sustainability industry. This role combines business strategy, brand positioning, and partnership development. You’ll be responsible for creating opportunities.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Business Growth & Market Development:

  • Develop and implement a business growth strategy for BISL in the Nigerian market, with plans for expansion into Africa and the UK.
  • Identify and secure partnerships with developers, housing cooperatives, NGOs, and government agencies.
  • Design and manage revenue-generating business models, including service packages, retainers, and consulting solutions.
  • Prepare business proposals and lead negotiations with clients and key stakeholders.


Brand Strategy & Visibility:

  • Strengthen BISL’s brand presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, and public-facing platforms.
  • Translate the tagline “Design Smart. Build Efficiently. Maintain Sustainably.” into compelling storytelling and actionable marketing campaigns.
  • Develop brand positioning documents, marketing decks, and content frameworks to support visibility.
  • Build media relationships and secure PR opportunities, including panels, summits, and interviews.


Partnerships & Client Relations:

  • Establish collaborations with key industry bodies such as IFMA Nigeria, ARCON, COREN, and housing/sustainability organisations.
  • Identify and pitch for opportunities in both public and private sector housing and sustainability projects.
  • Develop long-term client relationship systems, including follow-up structures and engagement frameworks.


Strategy & System Development:

  • Develop a comprehensive client acquisition system (CRM) and establish a robust pipeline of leads, partnerships, and investors.
  • Document internal processes and develop structured business development systems.
  • Support the establishment of BISL Academy, a training platform for facility maintenance and sustainability education.


Content & Thought Leadership:

  • Collaborate with the Founder to develop articles, webinars, and thought leadership materials on sustainability, housing, and facility management.
  • Position BISL as the leading voice in sustainable facilities maintenance in Nigeria and across the region.


Requirements:

  • 1 year experience
  • Degree in a related field
  • Business Development Expertise: Ability to identify opportunities, create strategic partnerships, and drive revenue growth. 
  • Brand Strategy & Marketing Skills: Strong understanding of branding, storytelling, digital marketing and visibility-building across social platforms. 
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for proposal pitches, content creation, and stakeholder engagement. 
  • Relationship Building: Ability to engage developers, government agencies, NGOs and industry bodies effectively. 
  • Strategic Thinking: Skilled in planning, projecting outcomes and creating long-term growth frameworks. 
  • Proposal & Presentation Development: Proficiency in preparing business proposals, pitch decks, and professional documentation. 
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple initiatives, deadlines and priorities simultaneously. 
  • Knowledge of the Built Environment: Understanding of real estate, sustainability, facility management or construction is an advantage. 
  • Digital & Social Media Proficiency: Ability to use LinkedIn, Instagram and other platforms for brand positioning and corporate storytelling. 
  • Analytical Skills: Capable of assessing data market trends and performance metrics to inform strategy. 
  • Negotiation Skills: Confident in negotiating partnership contracts and business terms. 
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Innovative approach to building new models, managing challenges and creating sustainable solutions.
