Job Summary
We are seeking to hire a highly skilled and experienced News Editor to oversee daily news content, ensure accuracy and quality in reporting, and manage newsroom operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong editorial judgment, exceptional writing and editing skills, and a keen sense for news that informs and engages the audience.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the planning, editing, and publishing of news stories across digital and/or print platforms.
- Supervise a team of reporters, writers, and junior editors to ensure coverage is comprehensive, timely, and accurate.
- Assign stories, review submissions, and provide feedback to improve content quality and clarity.
- Fact-check stories and ensure all content adheres to ethical journalism standards and the organization’s editorial guidelines.
- Collaborate with photo editors, video producers, and graphic designers to enhance storytelling with multimedia.
- Monitor news wires, social media, and other sources to stay ahead of breaking news and trends.
- Make critical decisions about story priorities, headlines, and publishing schedules.
- Maintain consistency in tone, voice, and style across the newsroom’s output.
- Liaise with legal and compliance teams when needed to review sensitive or high-risk content.
- Provide training and mentorship to editorial staff to enhance newsroom performance and innovation.
Requirements:
- Minimum of degree
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
- Must be flexible to work six (6) days a week
