Job Summary

The BDM would oversee the day-to-day management of the business development team, devising strategies for driving sales growth across the business scope. This role calls for a consummate and professional approach to the strategic business development and marketing of the company’s products and services. The overall management of all strategic and operational marketing and customer relationship activities, planning and coordinating the implementation of business plans and the penetration of new markets are encapsulated in this role.

Job Description 

• Oversee the marketing and sales process to attract new customers
• Work with senior/management and line managers to identify and manage risks
• Develop a sales boosting strategy to aggressively drive and close sales in both private and public sector thereby promoting the corporate brand equity
• Creative thinking to promote sales in order to achieve the set targets and establish the company’s brand
• Facilitate driving the sales of company’s products/services to be able to compete effectively in an increasingly competitive market
• Coordinate the sales process and regularly report on pipeline and ensure all information is up to date
• Coordinate the process of gathering and analyzing market intelligence, customer research information, current market conditions and competition information for proper response and action
• Negotiate the terms and conditions of proposals with relevant stakeholders and achieve closure
• Responsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives through aggressive sales engagement
• Acquire new orders by identifying potential customers and networking with potential stakeholders from various segments in all sectors of the economy relevant to the brand
• Develop and continuously manage a robust sales pipeline
• Deliver excellent product/service presentations to drive sales of company’s activities to key stakeholders
• Leverage existing client relationships to understand new needs/trend, and position the brand to help solve them
• Participating in tradeshows, sales workshops, sales seminars, and events on behalf of the company for the purpose of collecting qualified leads and pertinent sales information as well as keeping up with market trends in order to ensure that the business does not lag behind of other competition
• Maintain the highest level of professional and ethical standards and develop sales strategies to acquire new customers or clients
• Track Sales Executive metrics/performance and share them with management
• Negotiate and win sales for the organization thereby contributing towards the achievement of team and departmental targets
• Build and maintain relationships with buyers and suppliers, for the purpose of creating and strengthening strategic business alliances that complement company's core competencies
• Participate in sales presentations aimed at pitching for business across pre-determined locations as required in the sales/marketing scorecard
• Prepare expression of interest/proposals and quotations for the provision of lands/properties and/or other services on sale, working with the other teams in achieving corporate sales target
• Manage customer/client accounts, maintaining knowledge of key account status and following up on outstanding invoices and receivables that are due
• Conducting after-sales and/or post-project assessments aimed at ascertaining accuracy, promptness of delivery and overall customer satisfaction
• Maintaining a robust customer relationship feedback mechanism so as to continually articulate and satisfy customers need
• Maximize the sales performance by establishing strong relationships and gaining insight to the needs and lifestyle of the client
• Meet weekly, monthly, and annual sales and activity quotas
• Generate leads and commit to customer service by building relationships
• Adjust sales techniques based on interactions and results in the field
• Perform incisive and insightful market and competitive research
• Qualify, develop, and maintain thorough company and product knowledge, research consumer needs, and identify how our services can meet them
• Generate leads and grow existing relationships, maintaining an accurate, detailed client book, and developing an active, repeat customer base
• Make cold calls or perform warm outreach, putting outside-the-box thinking to work to develop new and unique sales tactics
• Work with the Account Executive team to design industry-specific outbound efforts
• Utilize sales tools to ensure standard processes during all sales stages
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes

Skills and Qualification Required:

• Strong commercial and sales background, preferably in real estate, business consulting and Administration
• Must have exceptional sales skills and a consistent track record in sales conversion success and performance
• Proven experience attracting large sales opportunities
• Must have established contacts and relationships within the business’s industry
• Be an outstanding communicator, with strong negotiating and persuasion skills
• An excellent appreciation of the Nigerian skill development and education landscape, industry and real estate nuances will be preferable
