Laundry Attendant

• Sort laundry items by color, fabric type, and level of soiling.
• Operate washers, dryers, and ironing machines safely and efficiently.
• Use appropriate amounts and types of detergents, softeners, and disinfectants.
• Inspect items for stains and damage before and after cleaning.
• Remove stains using appropriate methods or report items that require special treatment.
• Fold, hang, or iron clothing and linens as required.
• Ensure proper labeling and tracking of client or guest laundry.
• Keep laundry area clean, organized, and safe at all times.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
• Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with inventory management of laundry supplies and linens

Requirements:

• High school certificate or equivalent (preferred but not required).
• Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role (an advantage).
• Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment.
• Attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Physical stamina – ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy loads.
• Reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Working conditions:

• Fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, steam, and cleaning chemicals.
• May involve standing, lifting, and repetitive motion for extended periods.
• Shifts may include weekends and public holidays, depending on employer needs.
