Job Summary
We are seeking to hire a responsible and highly organised Female Boarding House Parent to join our client, a British international school located in Ikeja, Lagos. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the welfare, safeguarding, and personal development of female boarding students, providing a nurturing “home away from home” environment that aligns with the values and ethos of a British-style education

Job Description/Requirements
- Providing high-quality pastoral care and supervision for female boarders.
- Fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive boarding environment that encourages students’ academic, emotional, and social well-being.
- Maintaining positive and respectful relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Monitoring students' health and well-being, including administering medication and liaising with medical professionals when necessary.
- Promoting good discipline, punctuality, hygiene, and respect for others within the house.
- Organising and supervising routines such as wake-up, meals, prep (study) time, bedtimes, and weekend activities.
- Communicating regularly with the Head of Boarding and pastoral staff on student progress and concerns.
- Keeping accurate records and reports on student welfare, behavior, and incidents.
- Supporting students in developing independence, responsibility, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Upholding school safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
Requirement:
- Degree or qualification in education, psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a British curriculum or international school setting.
- Strong pastoral instincts and genuine interest in the welfare of young people.
- Experience working with children or teenagers, ideally in a residential or boarding context.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
- Culturally sensitive, professional, and adaptable to an international school environment.
- A clear commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
- Health or first aid training.
- Counseling, mentoring, or youth work background.
- Must be a female (due to the pastoral care role in a female boarding house)
