Plumbing Instructor

Responsibilities:

Training:

• Interprets blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials 
• Installs pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water and other liquids 
• Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation 
• Assembles fittings and valves for installation 
• Modifies the length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building 
• Uses saws, pipe cutters and other plumbing tools as necessary
• Installs heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters 
• Collaborates with contractors or others in installing and repairing plumbing 
• Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems
• Analyses the problem and identifies appropriate tools and materials for repair 
• Follows health and safety standards and complies with building codes 
• Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts 
• Prepares, arrange and oversees the workshop on a daily basis.

Maintenance:

• Ensure that the tools, equipment, machines, and materials in the training area are properly secured. 
• Ensure that machines and equipment are maintained according to the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule
• Request the purchase and delivery of course materials, as well as non-capital tools and equipment. 
• Attend to fixing and identify appropriate tools for the school hostel plumbing challenges when required. 
• Any other duties as assigned by the Technical Training Manager.

Requirements:

• OND in Mechanical Engineering or a certificate in technical education. 
• Minimum of 6 years proven practical experience in the construction industry.
