Job descriptions & requirements
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engineering department
- Develop and deliver classroom training and assessments for maritime students
- Create and update course materials to meet STCW and regulatory requirements
- Oversee practical training and compliance with industry standards
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students and junior staff
- Collaborate with other instructors to ensure consistency and quality of training
Requirements:
- Chief Engineer certification (Class 1 or 2)
- Minimum 5 years of classroom teaching experience in a maritime training program
- Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles and STCW regulations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes
Desirable:
- Experience with online learning platforms and digital tools
- Familiarity with Nigerian maritime regulations and industry practices
