Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

Business Development & Revenue Growth:

  • Identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across corporate, SME, and institutional clients.
  • Develop and manage a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Lead client pitches, proposals, and negotiations through to deal closure.
  • Support renewal discussions and drive portfolio expansion through cross-selling
  • Meet and exceed agreed revenue and new business targets.

 

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with senior decision-makers and key stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted service contact for assigned clients and prospects.
  • Understand client risk profiles and work with technical teams to design appropriate insurance solutions.
  • Support client onboarding and ensure smooth handover to servicing teams.

 

Market Intelligence & Positioning:

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging client needs.
  • Identify sectors and client segments with strong growth potential.
  • Represent KBC professionally at industry events, client meetings, and networking forums.
  • Provide market insights to management to support commercial strategy.

 

Internal Collaboration & Execution:

  • Work closely with technical and operations to ensure accurate and timely service delivery.
  • Ensure all business development activities comply with NAICOM regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, client interactions, and revenue forecasts.
  • Contribute to improving business development processes and client acquisition strategies.

 

Reporting & Performance Management:

  • Track and report on leads, opportunities, and revenue performance.
  • Provide regular pipeline updates and forecasts to management.
  • Support branch and firm-wide commercial planning activities.


Requirement:

  •  A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years’ experience in business development, sales, or client acquisition.
  • Experience in insurance, financial or professional services.
  • Proven ability to close complex or high-value deals.
  • Strong understanding of relationship-based selling.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
