Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Sourcing and closing deals on solar installation (solar roofing shingles, solar panels, battery storage, and recycling, as well as inverters)
- Prospect new clients and qualify leads through various channels, such as cold calls and door-to-door marketing
- Provide customers with accurate information about our solar products and services, and help them select the best solution for their energy needs
- Create and maintain outstanding relationships with clients
- Negotiate prices and contracts with customers to close sales deals and secure long-term partnerships
- Develop and maintain a database of leads and effectively prioritize them for sales outreach
- Educate customers on the advantages of solar energy, including cost savings, environmental benefits, and available incentives or rebates
- Explain the solar installation process, system components, and financing options to potential customers
- Visit customers' locations to evaluate their energy needs, roof suitability, and sun exposure to determine the optimal solar system size and design
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to create personalized solar energy proposals based on-site assessments and customer preferences
- Present proposals to customers, address their questions and concerns and negotiate terms to secure contracts
- Meet or exceed sales quotas
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and technologies
- Present sales, revenue, and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team of the company
- Track sales goals and other key KPIs to ensure the overall success of the business and sales team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field (preferred)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of sales experience in the solar industry or selling energy or utility products
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Familiarity with solar technologies and the renewable energy industry
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Proficient in using CRM software and other relevant sales tools
- Successful previous experience as a solar salesperson, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
