Job Summary

We are seeking a results-driven business development manager (Upstream) to drive growth and expand our presence in Nigeria’s upstream oil and gas sector. Candidates must have strong knowledge of upstream operations, excellent relationship management skills, and proven experience in business development within the oil and gas industry.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for collating, tracking, monitoring and reporting intelligence on all major activities and projects in the upstream sector of the industry and developing a strategy for the company partake in identified and viable opportunities.
  • Responsible for monitoring of Nipex portal on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for putting together bids and tenders with IOC’s, NNPC, Marginal Field Operations and LOC’s
  • Ensuring company's growth objectives are attained; articulating new business development opportunities and identifying, negotiating and managing relationships with OEM’s and technical partners in line with corporate goals.
  • Timely conversion of Requests for quotes(RFQs) to Purchase Orders(Pos)
  • Processing P.Os to agreed scope.
  • Act as a liaison officer between the company and other key agencies in the upstream industry such as NIPEX, NUMS, NMDPRA, NUPRC, NEPL etc.
  • Identify prospects and develop sales strategies to penetrate and get new accounts. This includes preparation of presentations and tenders.
  • Responsible for registrations with all relevant bodies for Upstream business activities and ensure renewals as at when due.
  • Get company registered on the AVL (Approved Vendors List) of all the IOC’s and major operators of OML’s and marginal field operators.
  • Lead the formulation, execution and monitoring of company's upstream business development, market penetration strategies and plans for enhancing business growth.
  • Identify, evaluate and develop new business opportunities and feasibility reports supporting growth based on intelligence.


Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Marketing or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of business development or commercial experience within the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas industry dynamics (upstream, midstream, downstream).
  • Demonstrated success in securing projects, partnerships, or strategic accounts.
  • Proven track record of developing relationships that led to tangible business growth.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Technical understanding of oil and gas operations.
