Commercial Executive
Job summary
The Commercial Executive will be responsible for growing Blue Ocean’s international client portfolio by promoting our services, building long-term client relationships, and securing commercial contracts. This role focuses on attracting shipowners, operators, charterers, and maritime service partners, managing client relationships end-to-end, converting opportunities into signed business, and representing Blue Ocean professionally across the global maritime market

Responsibilities:
International Client Acquisition & Market Development:
- Actively promote Blue Ocean to shipowners, operators, charterers, offshore & energy companies, maritime agencies, and brokers
- Identify new commercial opportunities across maritime security services, offshore support, port and terminal operations, marine logistics, and escort services
- Develop and maintain a strong international client pipeline
- Attend industry events, conferences, and meetings (virtual and in-person)
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for clients
- Build trusted, long-term relationships with decision makers and CSOs
- Understand client operational needs and risk environment
- Ensure client satisfaction before, during, and after operations
- Handle commercial negotiations professionally and strategically
Commercial Strategy & Contracting:
- Prepare and present commercial proposals, service packages, pricing structures, and contractual scopes
- Work closely with operations and management to align services with client requirements
- Ensure feasibility and profitability
- Support contract negotiations and closing of deals
Revenue Growth & Performance:
- Achieve agreed commercial targets (leads, contracts, revenue)
- Expand existing client accounts with repeat business
- Identify upselling and cross-service opportunities
- Monitor market trends, competitors, and pricing dynamics
Brand Representation & Market Positioning:
- Act as a professional ambassador for Blue Ocean internationally
- Clearly communicate Blue Ocean’s strengths, compliance, and operational capability
- Support marketing initiatives, presentations, and client materials
Requirements:
- 5-7 years of experience
- Minimum of a degree
- Demonstrable track record in B2B business development, sales, or account management
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively at a senior level
- Strong negotiation skills and proven ability to close complex, high-value agreements
- Highly professional in presentation and conduct
- Comfortable operating independently across international markets

Desirable:
- Background in maritime, shipping, offshore, logistics, energy, defence, or professional services

Remuneration: NGN 350,000 - 500,000
