Job Summary

We are looking to hire a Business Development Manager (Sales - Renewable Energy) is responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the company’s renewable energy portfolio. This includes identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining strategic partnerships, developing comprehensive sales strategies, and overseeing the execution of projects.

Job Description/Requirements

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Market Development:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy for the renewable energy division.
  • Identify emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities within the renewable energy sector.
  • Conduct market research and feasibility studies to assess the viability of potential projects and business ventures.

Sales and Revenue Growth:

  • Generate leads, identify potential customers, and secure contracts for renewable energy projects.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline to achieve or exceed revenue targets.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals tailored to client needs.

Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, private sector partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Negotiate terms and agreements with partners, ensuring alignment with company objectives. 

Project Management and Execution:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of renewable energy projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget while meeting quality and regulatory standards.
  • Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies for projects and partnerships. 

Regulatory Compliance and Sustainability:

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to renewable energy projects.
  • Advocate for and implement sustainable practices within the organization and in client engagements. 

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor associates involved in renewable energy initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team. 

Reporting and Analytics:

  • Develop detailed reports and presentations on project progress, market trends, and financial performance.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • An MBA or advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of experience in business development, project management, or sales in the renewable energy sector.
  • Proven track record of securing and managing renewable energy projects.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and CRM software.
  • Certifications in renewable energy (e.g., Solar Energy Certification, PMP) are advantageous.
  • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar.
  • Business Acumen: Strong understanding of financial modelling, contracts, and regulatory frameworks in the renewable energy sector.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder engagement and negotiations.
  • Project Management: Proficiency in managing large-scale renewable energy projects with complex timelines and budgets.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze market trends, financial data, and technical specifications to make data-driven decisions.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills to drive initiatives and inspire collaboration.
