Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding where necessary.
- Measure and record patients' vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, and blood glucose (where trained).
- Assist nurses and doctors during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
- Prepare patients for consultations, investigations, and medical procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of patient care areas and medical equipment.
- Ensure proper infection prevention and control practices are followed.
- Assist with patient mobility, transfers, and transportation within the facility.
- Observe patients' conditions and promptly report any changes to the supervising healthcare professional.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
- Support health education and wellness promotion activities.
- Manage medical supplies and report stock shortages.
- Provide compassionate care while maintaining patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervising nurse or healthcare manager.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Diploma or Certificate in Healthcare Assistance, Community Health, Nursing Assistant, or a related healthcare field.
- Relevant certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid is an added advantage.
- Previous experience in a hospital, clinic, or healthcare facility is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of patient care and infection prevention practices.
- Ability to use basic medical equipment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness to assist with patient care activities.
