Farm Manager

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for obtaining better yield and profitability by working with the management on deciding the crops and produce for the season and recommending improvements.
• Planning farming activities for the period by preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting.
  
• Supervising planting and other staff.
  
• Spraying crop protection chemicals and ensuring that seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
  
• Harvesting the crops.
  
• Handling the marketing and sale of products/crops produced on the farm.
  
• Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.
• Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborating with the appropriate department to prepare budgets and financial reports.
  
• Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.
• Documentation of all details on the farm.
• Handle various administrative tasks on the farm.
• Ensure maximum profitability.
• Prepare budgets.
  
• Purchase farm supplies.
  
• Maintain relationships with clients and vendors.
  
• Responsible for daily running and organization of activities on the farm.

Requirements:

• Minimum academic qualification of Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science, Project Management, Economics or equivalent  (ability to deliver is of utmost importance).  
• At least 3 years of practical and relatable experience.  
• Passion for agriculture with excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.  
• The ability to make good decisions in that capacity.  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
• Readiness to work overtime as required.
