Role Overview
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the company’s oil and gas export growth by identifying new international markets, building strategic partnerships, managing key accounts, and increasing revenue through structured export strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of global oil and gas trade, export compliance, and energy market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Market Expansion:
Identify and develop new export markets for crude oil, refined products, LNG, and other petroleum products.
Analyze global energy market trends, pricing, and competitor activities to drive strategic decisions.
Develop and execute export-focused business development strategies aligned with company goals.
Client & Partnership Management:
Source, engage, and manage relationships with international buyers, brokers, and strategic partners.
Negotiate and close export contracts and long-term supply agreements.
Maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulators, and logistics partners.
Revenue Generation & Profitability:
Drive revenue growth through the acquisition of high-value export contracts.
Ensure profit margins through effective pricing strategies and cost optimization.
Prepare business development proposals, presentations, and commercial bids.
Export Operations & Compliance:
Oversee export documentation processes including LC, and other trade documentation.
Ensure compliance with local and international trade laws, licenses, and oil & gas export regulations.
Work closely with logistics, legal, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of export deals.
Reporting & Strategy Support:
Prepare regular performance reports, pipeline updates, and revenue forecasts.
Provide market intelligence to leadership for strategic planning and expansion.
Represent the company at international trade fairs, exhibitions, and energy conferences.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Relations, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in business development with a strong focus on oil and gas exports/trading.
Proven track record of closing international oil & gas export deals.
Strong understanding of oil & gas markets, trading, shipping, and export regulations.
The existing network of international buyers, traders, and industry stakeholders will be a major advantage
Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills
