Job Summary
The Design and Technology Teacher is responsible for maximising the academic progress of the students they teach, working with colleagues to participate fully in the development of the school.

Job Description/Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare well-structured lessons assigned to classes, following the school’s plan, curriculum, and schemes of work
- Teach according to the educational needs of pupils assigned to them, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the pupil in school and as homework
- Assess, monitor, record, and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of assigned pupils, recording and reporting on the development, progress, and attainment of pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessments
- Promote the general progress and well-being of individual pupils and of any class or group of pupils assigned to them, whilst adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils
- Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils
- Produce, maintain, and share high-quality learning materials and resources that are aligned with the English National Curriculum.
- Provide high-quality, accurate, constructive, and targeted information to parents at parent consultations, subject reports, incidental meetings, and communications.
- Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge
- Participate in meetings arranged for any purpose described above
- Undertake structured and agreed learning activities and adjust activities according to pupil responses.
- Prepare, maintain, and use equipment/resources required to meet the lesson plans and assist pupils in their use.
- Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including after school, as requested by the Head Teacher.
- Promote the safety and well-being of pupils.
- Maintain good order and discipline among pupils, managing behavior effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
- To undertake staff training, including health and safety and first aid courses as required by the school.
- Comply with the school’s policies and procedures relating to child protection and safeguarding, and the staff code of conduct.
Requirements:
- Degree in Design and Technology, Science, Engineering, or related subjects.
- Qualified Teacher Status
- PGCE will be an advantage
- Experience in teaching STEM
- Strong knowledge of computer software programs, such as MS Office
- Other professional qualifications pertinent to the role
- 3+ years of teaching experience
- Good knowledge of the national curriculum of England
- Evidence of professional development relevant to this role
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commitment to upholding and promoting the ethos and values of the school
